I’m happy to report that another of my lenses has received the great Squidoo honor of a purple star!  My lens – Best Fidget Toys for Sensory Input – has also received a purple star. I’m very pleased that several of my lenses have been honored as great works. One of my Squid goals for 2012 is to get at least one more purple star – this time for my Native Japanese Dog Breeds lens.  Personally, I think this lens is just as nice as my purple star lenses, but I may have to add some juicy info to get it noticed by the squids who bestow the purple star.

My other squid goals for 2012 include becoming a Giant Squid, and getting my monthly income up to a steady $500 a month. I know some lensmasters just pour out the lenses at an amazing rate, reaching a high income based on simply having so many lenses. I would rather have just a few, well-written, high quality lenses, but I do need to reach at least 25 great lenses to even begin to qualify for Giant Squid. I’d better get writing!

I just happened to notice tonight that I have two lenses in the Top 100 for the Children with Special Needs category – Best Fidget Toys for Sensory Input is sitting at #1 for the category, and Living with Childhood Apraxia is at #10. I’m very happy about this, and would really like to get a couple more in the Top 100 for this category. My problem is, what the heck do I write about now?

Purple Star!

I received my first purple star for my lens, Living with Childhood Apraxia of Speech. I’m so very honored and excited to have received this! And for a lens I’m not entirely satisfied with….it’s got to be the cute video of my son trying to say “meow.” As I get more actively involved with Squidoo, [...]

Rocket Moms

I’ve been having a lot of fun making a couple of new lenses at Squidoo. I’ve decided to make Squidoo a large part of my online portfolio. To that end, I have a goal of becoming a Giant Squid (at least 50 “really great” lenses) – the next deadline to apply is Dec 31. I [...]

Getting Ready for the New Year

I can’t believe it’s almost the end of 2010. This year has gone by so fast, partly because I’ve been so busy. I’m already getting into the “soccer mom” routine, although my almost 4yr old doesn’t play sports yet. But, between various therapies, preschool, playgroups, and then all my stuff…live has been hectic. I have [...]

Lens of The Day – Keyser Soze’s Wishlist

I’m really loving the improved Squidoo – Squidoo Plus they are calling it. I love earning points & leveling up – put some sort of leveling up system on your site, and I’ll probably hang out! So, I’m trying to work my way up in Squid levels (I’m currently level 30) and I’m still planning [...]

Squidoo Lens #2 – Native Japanese Dog Breeds

I really enjoyed writing my second Squidoo lens. This time I chose to write about something near and dear to my heart for purely informational purposes. I expected the Fidget Toys lens to make a few bucks, but my Native Japanese Dog Breeds lens was just for fun. It’s been doing pretty well, slowly moving [...]
