Even though it happens every year at the exact same time, the new year always seems to sneak up on me. I’m just amazed that it’s already 2011. My son turned 4 last week – I’m still in shock over that! Being the new year, I suppose it’s time for making New Year’s resolutions. I’m making a couple – most of them IM related.
My goal for 2011 is to become financially independent. This doesn’t mean that I need to be rich or make a six figure income. My only debt is my student loan (slap with the stupid stick on that one) – which means no car or house payments. I am pretty frugal, though there’s always room for improvement there. So, really, I’d be quite thrilled with a 4 figure monthly income.
How is this going to happen? Well, I’m still formulating my plan, but here’s the basics:
- Juicy WP Themes – finish the updates I’m currently working on, release the 2 new themes I’m working on, and release 3-4 more themes
- Websites – build out all my current domains that are just sitting around then sell them; concentrate on my 5 “authority” sites
- Squidoo – become a Giant Squid
- Build a membership site
- Launch at least 1 product (other than my themes)
- Develop my ecommerce site
That’s pretty much it. My only other goal for 2011 is to get healthy & fit. I’m already on the right path with this one – 18.8 lbs down since September. Time to step it up and add in some exercise. I find that after I spend some time on the exercise bike, walking my dog, or playing some active Wii games, my brain is a bit clearer for work. Double benefit!
